“Third excision surgery. Found endo on bladder, bowels, uterus, and diaphragm. Critically identified what appeared to be scar tissue wrapped around the right ureter as endometriosis — without this, patient's kidney would have failed. Takes insurance. Patient felt great one week post-op and is a strong ongoing advocate for him.”
Reported complications: ureteral stent required for 6 weeks post-surgery (described as brutal but necessary)
“I have my life back. 3rd excision with Dr. Furr was best decision.”
Reported complications: minor
“Nook surgeon; 300+ DIE cases; patient traveled from CO to TN; office helped with insurance, allowed partial payment to schedule; highly recommended by patient; kept patient in hospital until Thursday post-surgery”
Reported complications: severe post-op menorrhagia requiring ER visit, iron deficiency, dehydration
“Dr. Furr pre-operatively tried antibiotics to rule out bacterial intestinal infection; patient was awaiting surgery for months due to intestinal endo flares and back pain; 5 incisions; patient expressed strong relief at confirmed endo diagnosis”
Reported complications: vaginal bleeding post-op
“He really listened, gave great insight, and I feel like I can trust him. Dr. Furr said my insides were a mess.”
Reported complications: hot flashes post-op (possible ovarian insufficiency), left ovary severely compromised with minimal right ovarian tissue remaining, unable to urinate immediately post-op (resolved)
“Surgery canceled; patient left practice. Hopefully you had your surgery already if you stuck with Dr. Furr. My May surgery just got canceled. At Furr's office, I told them my symptoms and the NP was sure I have endo.”
“Patient describes Furr as 'the amazing, wonderful, best surgeon ever' who 'saved my life'. Cried at first appointment because he 'actually saw me and believed me'. Spent a decade and 6 surgeries before finding him. Only surgeon patient can personally vouch for knowing what he's doing.”
“3.5-hour surgery excising stage 4 DIE on 7 organs including appendix removal. Patient recovering well, scars fully healed per follow-up posts. Nerve snip performed for pain management. he knew a LOT dr. furr is wonderful in my personal experience”
“His bedside manner sucked (maybe it was just me).”
“Had excision surgery with Dr. Furr approximately 6 years prior (2018). Described as a good surgeon technically but with poor bedside manner. Symptoms recurred. Patient notes others have had good experiences with him. I had surgery with Dr. Furr and I think he is a good surgeon but his bedside manner sucked maybe it was just me cause others have said he was great”
