“Significant pain relief same night of surgery; minimal referred gas pain post-op due to surgeon's gas-release technique He finds every bit of endometriosis and removes it with his robotic surgery My surgery was in the AM and that same night I already feel so much better”

How was recovery? I’m scheduled with Dr Boz in a month and he told me I’ll be able to manage pain with Advil.

Dr. Boz NY/NJ review Dr. Boz NY/NJ review I wanted to share my experienze with Dr. Bozdogon (Dr. Boz) in NJ/ NYC When I had my apendix out in January the emergency surgeon found endometriosis all over the place. It was incredibly validating because i’ve struggled with painful periods and bad tummy aches my whole life. Ultrasounds and examinations were always inconclusive up until that appendectomy and it turns out endometriosis can often only be diagnosed through a laparoscopy (surgery with camera). As soon as I knew I had endo, I started doing my research I discovered Dr. Boz with incredible patient testimonials. He works in NJ and NY (operates in Hackensack hospital and Lennox hill with offices in Paramus and NYC) and is an actual magician. He finds every bit of endometriosis and removes it with his robotic surgery (and shows you pictures and videos of it if you want to see it) My first appointment he literally greeted me with a hug and a box of chocolates and told me he would change my life. Was it excessive? Maybe. Did I eat that shit up? Absolutely. I was instructed to go off birth control just before the surgery to induce my period and I was cramping horribly before surgery. My surgery was in the AM and that samenight I already feel so much better. Laparoscopic surgery often results in trapped air in your abdomemn and can lead to awful referred gas pain. I was miserable after my apendectamy because of this. Dr. Boz goes out of his way to actually remove and release the gas before stitching you back up. My referred pain now is minimal. The only con is Dr. Boz is an out of network doctor. However, he capped my out of pocket costs for his services at $3,000. The hospital and anesthesiologist were covered under my insurance. I’m happy to answer any questions anyone may have and wanted to make this post in case someone else comes looking through this sub for his name.

I chose him after reaching out to his previous patients. I was able to find a few on Reddit and instagram. I told him I was concerned it would be too expensive to have the surgery and he said to me “the most you will pay will be $3,000” a couple of days before the surgery his billing department called asking for payment. It was exactly $3,000. This is just the Dr. Boz’s fee. Totally separate from the anesthesiologist and hospital (which are covered by my insurance otherwise I would not have been able to proceed) Basically, I don’t have to worry about getting a bill from Dr. Boz’s office asking for more money for any of the services rendered today.

Sorry I should’ve mentioned: Dr. Boz determined the fee. Not my insurance.

I am 5 days post op and feeling good!! I have not had a single headache since my surgery which is WILD to me because I was having migraines daily. No back pain”

I just met with Dr. Boz and have scheduled my surgery. SO nervous about it & even told him I’m scared he won’t find anything at all. I don’t want to be back at square one with this pain monthly. How much time did you take to recover? Worried about going back to work as I work with small children

I am 5 days post op and feeling good!! Everyone’s bodies are sooo different though I’ve learned through this thread so I didn’t expect to be doing this well. I have not had a single headache since my surgery which is WILD to me because I was having migraines daily. No back pain the only “pain” I’m in is from the incisions and it doesn’t hurt it is just achey/sore if that makes sense which is fair since I just had surgery 😂 trying to be gentle with myself and Dr. Boz encouraged walking so I’ve been doing that. He was out of network so it was $2,500. The hospital and anesthesiologist were covered by my insurance (to my understanding so far I hope I don’t end up with surprise bill lol). Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you have I am literally home recovering & have nothing but time

“Stage III endo removed from hip ligaments, lower back ligaments, and bowels; near-immediate relief of lower back and hip pain”

r/r/endometriosis Nov 17, 2025 +1 pts
I just saw Dr. Boz this past week. I have surgery scheduled for two weeks from now. I have been doing more research just to see what his patients are saying. I was wondering how you are feeling? How has your recover been? Have you noticed a difference? Was your insurance in or out of network with him?

Hi! I am two weeks out from surgery and I feel really great! Surgery went well (as far as I know as I was under anesthesia ha). My husband came into to recovery to tell me Dr. Boz found stage three endometriosis (I was so worried he wouldn’t find anything). He removed everything he found. I had it all over both my hip and lower back ligaments as well as my bowels. I have felt such relief almost immediately in my lower back and hip pain. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions !

“Surgery in November 2020 for endo diagnosis and adhesion excision. Significant pain improvement post-surgery. Described as respectful, communicative, and validating. He instantly thought it was endometriosis and I had surgery shortly after for an official diagnosis and he cut apart the adhesions. It's been so much better since the surgery (November 2020).”

r/r/endometriosis Mar 29, 2021 +2 pts
I had seen multiple doctors before going to him and they all brushed off my symptoms. I had an ultrasound at the last doctor I went to before him. The ultrasound didn’t show anything, but the pain was so excruciating from just the ultrasound wand. That doctor told me I “must feel my body more than others.” I told Dr. Bozdogan about this and he did an exam. He instantly thought it was endometriosis and I had surgery shortly after for an official diagnosis and he cut apart (don’t think that’s the right term) the adhesions. It’s been so much better since the surgery (November 2020). He was also incredibly polite. Most doctors I have had just tell me what they are doing during an exam, he asked me if it was okay anytime he did anything, showed me what he was using, and explained why. He’s very respectful and doesn’t diminish your experience with endometriosis. He also explained some ways I could alleviate future problems.

The post lap euphoria is real The post lap euphoria is real Hi world! I just had my two week follow up with my surgeon and thought I would share my experience. I was treated via the DaVinci by Dr. Bozdogan of the Advanced Endometriosis Center of NJ/NY, who removed a uterine fibroid as well as endo from the peritoneal muscles of both my hips. He didn't stage me, just noted that it was deeper and larger on one side - 6cm, like I was literally carrying around a whole chicken egg in my hip 😭 My surgery was performed at Lenox Hill Hospital.in NYC, and I cannot sing the praises of my "team" enough. From my first (free) consultation with the surgeon all the way until my discharge, I was cared for and listened to. I have really bad veins and was panicking a little on the operating table when they were hooking me up with IVs and the assistant surgeon held my hand and talked to me the whole time. The relief was almost immediate. My condition had worsened over the last few years to the point where I was having daily pain, mobility issues, and urinary issues. I literally thought my organs were failing but it was all JUST because the endo was so close to my nerves and causing referred pain. But waking up from surgery...sure I was sore, but my kidneys didn't hurt, and the constant mental fog was wiped away. I'm honestly amazed at how quickly my body is bouncing back! By day 3 I had pooped and was able to stand mostly straight, sit cross legged, and roll onto my side a little (maternity pillow has been a godsend). My appetite is RAVENOUS after years of getting nauseous before and after a meal. I have a normal person's amount of energy - it really feels like I pulled a "Damn bitch, you live like this?" on myself. I even got my period about 10 days into recovery and was FINE. My muscles and nerves are still freaking out, but I didn't have a full body achey flu feeling, and naproxen was able to actually curb the pain, instead of barely scratching it. Of course, it hasn't been all rainbows and cupcakes 🤪 some things I wish I knew before this surgery: -Surgical tape can cause a rash and will make you think you're dying (my very sweet surgeon returned an emergency call from me on Thanksgiving weekend to assure me it was normal) -Even though I'm regularly going to the bathroom, my bowels and bladder are still clenching up a lot. It's painful and scary at times and it sucks that I can't start pelvic floor therapy again for a bit. -I was NOT given opiates, but Motrin, and had to kinda live with the pain a bit. Overall I'm thankful bc I can't deal with surgical constipation. Also, all surgeons are a little bit nuts and full of themselves, even the ones who do really care a lot. I really can't recommend my surgeon enough, although he insists that the endo won't require a second surgery OR birth control. He said he won't even recommend it to his wife and that it's awful stuff - I don't disagree, but I'm sitting here scratching my head about it because I know it's statistically unlikely I will never have issues again and don't have to do any maintenance. I'm just trying to have hope though. Has anyone else's surgeon been this...umm, confident? Anyways, I just wanted to share my experience and give a big virtual hug to this community. I originally joined Reddit 8 years ago looking for answers as to why I was suffering so much, and received my pathology results literally ON my Cake Day, so it felt very cosmic 💚

Hi! The surgery itself went very well with Dr. Bozdogan. But unfortunately my debilitating symptoms returned full force just 6 months post op. I just had my second excision surgery two weeks ago with Dr. Lora Liu at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. Turns out there was a bunch of endo that had grown back and/or just wasn’t removed in the first place. It was really hard to hear because Dr. Boz promised my first surgery would last much longer. I highly recommend Dr. Liu - she is incredible and so validating. I also see Dr. Tayyaba Ahmed at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine - she has helped me so much with endo pain management. Hope you find relief soon 💛

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I can sense your desperation in your post. This is what I did that didn't involve my gynecologist. Once she refused to examine me for endometriosis, I called a specialist in endometriosis in Jersey, who is also a gynecologist. I called on March 28th for an appointment, and I went on April 2nd. He examined me and told me I have a large fibroid and a cyst on my right ovary. Also, I was anemic and had other problems. He offered to remove the fibroid and cyst, and I told him that I wanted a hysterectomy. He asked about having babies, and I told him I didn't want any. Without any hesitation, he agreed. I had my hysterectomy the following month on May 17th. Now, four months later, I feel fantastic. Dr. Ulas Bozdogan in Jersey. I hope you find a doctor who can help you. Take care.

“Patient had consult pre-surgery. Dr Boz performed thorough exam, assessed prolapses, advised against unnecessary pull-up surgery. Called patient proactively to recommend keeping uterus due to EDS/ligament concerns, demonstrating research into unfamiliar condition. Surgery not yet performed at time of writing.”

r/r/endometriosis Feb 15, 2023 +2 pts
I'm so glad to read this and hope you are doing ok. I also picked him off Google and have surgery scheduled for 3/3, also after my gyno being dismissive about the painful fibroid issues I am having- severe rectal pain and constipation and now I have pelvic floor laxity and rectocele. I also have a connective tissue disorder called EDS and have weak ligaments. First surgeon I saw wanted to do a partial hysterctomy and then suture my ligaments and basically pull up the pelvic floor. I almost went with her. Then I saw Dr Boz who offered fibroid removal and endo exploration. I brought up hysterectomy pros/cons and then decided on hysterectomy. He new about EDS but admitted he didn't know a lot about it. He did a very thorough exam and checked my proplapses and said they weren't that bad and didn't warrant any pull-up surgery and he didn't recommend it for me. Then he just called me this morning to tell me he was rethinking it and thinks I should keep my uterus because of the ligament support and was concerned about taking those out because of the EDS diagnosis. I feel like he did his homework about a condition he knew a little bit about and made the best decision in my best interest. I can't speak to his surgical abilities because I haven't had surgery yet, but so far my interaction with him, and the fact that he actually gave it some thought and possibly actually did a bit of research on a condition I have and made the least risky plan for me. So glad I didn't jump and use the prior surgeon and make a bad, irreversible decision!!
